When supporting researchers at universities, a common request is how can we make it easier to connect with resources and utilize them more like a workstation. Generally, for High Performance Computing clusters and smaller departmental cluster systems, resources are made available via a command line interface with connections managed through SSH. Open OnDemand provides a web portal interface that allows researchers to use a more familiar interface to begin utilizing the resources with less learning.

My talk will provide an introduction to this open-source project and how it could be utilized on shared resources, as well as a brief demo of how it is being utilized with University of British Columbia compute resources.
