Clean Slate: Advancing the TRU Student Experience with Slate CRM is an initiative aimed at advancing the TRU student experience through the implementation of the Slate CRM system. TRU chose Slate CRM from Technolutions because it is tailored for higher education, customizable to TRU's needs, offers unique briefcase functionality, and is cost-effective. The project addresses the fragmented CRM landscape at TRU by replacing legacy systems with a unified solution. Initially, TRU limited its phase one scope to domestic, undergraduate recruitment and admissions. However, due to changing business priorities in the current climate of financial restraint, TRU has decided to expand phase one scope to include international students and law admissions. Additionally, roadmap for 2025 includes implementing a minimum viable product for the Slate Student Success module to migrate users from legacy systems and consolidate CRM user groups. TRU is collaborating with Royal Roads to create a community of interest in BC for institutions using Slate CRM. One challenge identified is the limited availability of Canadian implementation partners. There is a potential for BCNET to select a preferred implementation partner to assist institutions in BC with deploying Slate CRM. In addition, there is also an opportunity to collaborate on requests to Technolutions to localise their product for the BC market.
