The security world can be daunting and depressing, with a never-ending deluge of attacks, newly discovered vulnerabilities that need patching, constant risk analysis, and being under fire 24/7 when you’re only staffed 8-5 on weekdays (if that!). It involves ever-evolving tactics, politics, world events, cybercrime, and advanced persistent threats.
How can we stay motivated, enthused, driven, and passionate when the onslaught doesn’t stop? Focusing on the mission of our institutions and the people we protect can help to foster satisfaction, pride, recognition, and innovation.
This presentation will use a number of stories and vignettes to demonstrate how the human needs to be the center and focus of our cybersecurity efforts.
