Katie Tuck

With over two decades of experience in information technology, Katie Tuck serves as the Chief Information Officer at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). In this role she is responsible for leading the strategic direction of enterprise-level technology services including infrastructure, applications, networking, classroom technology, telecommunications, and information security.

Dr. Veronica Thompson

Dr. Veronica Thompson has been serving as vice-president Academic and Provost at Royal Roads University since January 2021 and has recently led the creation and development of Royal Roads’ new 2022-25 Academic Strategic Plan. She has served in a variety of academic and administrative positions at the University of Calgary, Mount Royal College, Red Deer College and Athabasca University. In her previous role at Athabasca University, she was dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) and associate professor of English. Veronica holds a Ph.D.

Brian Stewart

Brian’s background is in strategic, operational, and technology management where he has sought to continuously learn through the combined application of theory and practice to improve organizational performance. His role has been to provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction for information technology and to lead organizational change through digitally led innovation. Brian writes and speaks widely on these topics, having published a number of papers and delivered several national and international presentations.

Peter Smailes

Peter Smailes is the vice-president, Administration at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He is responsible for information and education technology, campus and community planning, facilities, daily operations of KPU’s five campuses and ancillary services.

Dr. Dan Ryan

Dr. Dan Ryan is an accomplished leader, statistician, and educator who has spent over 30 years driving positive change in his community. With a passion for modern data analytics and emerging technologies, Dr. Ryan has held leadership positions at five Canadian universities and two research institutions.

Curtis Morcom

Curtis has 15 years of experience in the BC post-secondary sector and currently serves as the CFO & VP Corporate Services at Okanagan College. Curtis’s portfolio oversees the activities of Financial Services, Information Technology, Ancillary and Business Services, Campus Planning and Facilities Management, and serves as Treasurer of the Okanagan College Foundation. During his career in post-secondary Curtis has been involved in over $650M of major capital projects.

Matt Milovick

Matt Milovick is the Vice-President, Administration & Finance having served in that role since 2013. Matt has held senior and executive positions with various post-secondary institutions including Vice-President, Finance and Administration at the Ontario College of Art and Design University, Chief Financial Officer (Interim) and Vice-President, Operations and Strategic Development at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). He has also held diverse senior roles at Saint John’s College (University of New Brunswick Saint John) and York University.  

Wency Lum

Wency Lum is the Associate Vice-President University Systems and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the University of Victoria (UVic) and is responsible for the institution’s Information Technology (IT) strategy, policy, governance, and projects to enable UVic’s academic, research and administrative functions. Wency has held several IT leadership positions within the Government of British Columbia.

Bala Kathiresan

Glen Montgomery

Glen has over 30 years of experience in information technology within the private and public sectors, in both technical and management roles. He was the manager of IT infrastructure at the University of Northern British Columbia, where he worked in various IT roles since 2002. Glen holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science as well as many certifications in networking and cloud technologies, and administrative management.
