BCNET welcomes Stephen O'Connor and Dr. Norbert Haunerland to its Board of Directors.

O'Connor is the Chief Information Officer at Capilano University and Haunerland is the Associate Vice-President of Research at Simon Fraser University.

Stephen O'Connor, chief information officer, Capilano University

O'Connor has over two decades in executive IT management for private and public organizations, in North America and Europe. He has applied successfully his strong leadership, project, finance and transformation skills to numerous global organizations including JP Morgan, Richemont, Allied Domecq, IBM and Western Union.

Dr. Norbert Haunerland, associate vice-president of research at Simon Fraser University

As Associate Vice-President, Research, Dr. Norbert Haunerland advocates for SFU's research mission both internally and externally. He heads the Major Projects Office, which supports research initiatives and partnerships of strategic importance to the university, including the Canada Foundation for Innovation, the Canada Research Chairs program, and other endowed chairs. Dr. Haunerland holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Münster and joined SFU in 1989.
