For the last three years, School District No. 73 Kamloops/Thompson has maintained a mature wireless WAN; linking low-bandwidth sites to high-bandwidth locales. Utilizing inexpensive point-to-point dishes to "piggyback" off sites serviced by the Kamloops Community Fiber network (KCN) , the District is able to provide fast Internet to schools well beyond the physical reach of the KCN.
In this session, we will:
- Present our WAN network;
- Describe the wireless equipment;
- Show the cost savings using this method of connectivity.
