In this session we will discuss Vancouver Island University's deployment of a single centralized system for server and network monitoring. We will discuss our evaluation process, requirements gathering, guiding principles, and selection of the PRTG (Paessler Router Traffic Grapher) monitoring solution. We will then overview the installation and configuration process providing a look into the system, its features, and how we are using the system to provide a one stop look at system/network health. There will be a question and answer period to allow more in-depth discussion of gotcha’s, features, and suggestions following six months of use.
