Have you ever been in a meeting where it seemed like people were holding back? In our Project Management Office, we are exploring how to better understand contributions from our team members and notice how our biases shape what we hear and say. We are seeking to create safe spaces for challenging discussions about technical design, requirements gathering, information security, and other project decision points and will share our techniques and lessons learned in this session.

We will explore:

  • The "squint with your ears" technique
  • How bias informs our ability to listen and facilitate discussions
  • Tools and paradigms for project team building
