Diverse Network Infrastructure

The Diverse Infrastructure Project aims to improve network security and availability for member campuses located in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

The project team is building a diverse Transit Exchange, where members and service providers can interconnect their networks to exchange IP traffic and buy network services.

  • Increased network robustness through duplicate connections
  • Reduced risk of network failures
  • Improved network availability
Project Goals:
  • Build a diverse Transit Exchange including site contracts, routing equipment, and commodity Internet services in the Lower Mainland
  • Install a diverse fiber optic network to the new Transit Exchange
