Opportunities for Engagement

Technology is moving at a rapid pace and B.C.'s institutions are faced with many decisions regarding the delivery of leading-edge technology services to meet their strategic objectives and to enhance the teaching, research and learning experience.

Today, with so many options, and constrained budgets, campuses are exploring ways to share services to reduce technology duplication and minimize their operating costs.

BCNET provides an opportunity for engagement among campuses:

  • A forum to discuss technology ideas, challenges and solutions among campuses
  • Provides an economy of knowledge for its members
  • Facilitates collaboration among members
  • Leverages members' existing expertise
  • Provides technology leadership
  • Relies on relationships built on trust and mutual respect

EDUCAUSE

“In these challenging economic times, colleges and universities must work together to attain academic and operational successes. The shared-services approach can help higher education institutions cut costs and better serve their students, faculty, staff, and communities. It is a model that can allow institutions to stay focused on the core missions of teaching, learning, and research.”
