BCNET delivers value for organizations that require high-performance network services, redundant solutions and free peering. BCNET aggregates these services at its Transit Exchange (TX).
The TX is a centrally located physical infrastructure, where organizations can peer and access numerous commercial Internet service providers (ISPs).
Benefits of Connecting
Lower Internet transit costs
Data traffic that comes into the TX
that flows between users does not incur Internet trafficking fees.
World-class reliability
Choose from multiple ISPs at each of the BCNET TX
sites to get redundant services.
In Vancouver, users can connect to the following ISPs:
Bell, Shaw, TELUS, Peer1, RackForce Networks, Data Fortress Systems,MetroBridge Networks,
Primus Telecommunications
AEBC Internet Corp/Skyway West.
Peer with the research and higher education community
Organizations that connect to any five TX sites can peer
with the entire research & higher education community and any business that is connected.
Greater network customization and flexibility
BCNET uses their own fibre,
providing for greater network customization, flexibility and bandwidth. The fibre delivers numerous strands to dedicated sites,
supplying the advantage of greater control by users.
Access researchers around the world
Organizations that include research in their mandate may be eligible to access the
